The American Red Cross of Eastern Iowa chapter is pleased to announce Chris Georges as its new executive director. Georges joined the Red Cross in 2017 in the role of disaster program manager for the Northern and Central Iowa chapter. For the past several months, Georges served as interim executive director for the Eastern Iowa chapter.
Georges joined the Red Cross in 2017 serving in several disaster program roles as a manager. His specialty is direct client services, recovery and resiliency work.
“Chris is a committed member of the Red Cross, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for serving communities during times of crisis,” said Jill Orton, Region CEO. “His leadership and compassion will undoubtedly strengthen the Red Cross mission in Eastern Iowa.”
Georges holds graduate degrees from King’s College London and Lindenwood University. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He brings a global perspective to his work. Georges and his wife, Yamini, have called Iowa their home for over seven years and have three children and two dogs.
